Crafting Characters
I’m fairly new to the world of Tabletop RPG. I did some contemporary forum based RPG back in the days; the sort that didn’t need dice or anything fancy. In college, I try to partake into a D&D game which was all kind of wrong for me. It sounded so much fun, and I was disappointed not to like it as much as I thought I would.
Flash forwards a couple of weeks ago. I’m at a restaurant with some of my writer friends, and we got into talking about D&D. That’s when one of them asks me if I’d be interested in playing with her campaign. I hesitated at first, but it the end, the temptation for a good time was too much and I accepted. I didn’t regret it. This time around, I get friendly advice and fun companionship instead of eyes-rolled answers to my rpg-beginner questions. The players made all the differences.
I like it so much that when I saw Kristen McFarland post about Online Tabletop RPG, I had to answer. In the month that follow, we created a world and characters for the game, and yesterday was not first real-life meeting through google+ hangout. We have a video to prove it.
It was a lot of fun going through the Fate Core process to create our characters; a process that can easily be translated into creating non-rpg characters.
Future game will all feature on the Searching for a Superwoman Youtube Chanel. Our first session is planned for July 22. The official home for our party is The Searching for superwoman blog. I won’t be posting every game on this blog, but I’ll be shouting out for new game here and on twitter. So stay tune for the fun…
